Alice Louise Elsass

Alice L. Elsass, 1922 - 2002Graveside services for Alice Louise Elsass, 80, of Locust Grove, were held Monday, July 22, 2002, at 10:00am in the Graham Memorial Cemetery, Pryor.  Pastor Mark Erler officiated, with services under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mrs. Elsass was born March 7, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, to Theodore Oscar and Goldie Myrtle (Ballard) Creamer.  She grew up in Ohio and later married Howard Arthur Elsass on January 12, 1942, in St. Louis Missouri.  She worked as an LPN for many years in Tulsa, both at St. John Medical Center and for a private practice physician.  The couple came to the Locust Grove area in 1972 from Tulsa.  Her favorite pastimes included ceramics and crochet, and she was very fond of her pets.  She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Pryor.  She passed from this life on Thursday, July 18, 2002, in Pryor.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis and wife Patricia Elsass of Tulsa, Steve and wife Kathy Elsass of Oklahoma City; daughter Linda and husband Tim Bodine of Salina; six grandchildren, Donna Giebel, Greg and Karen Elsass, Steven Ryan Elsass, Cynthia and Kenny Moore, Veronica and Lamar Shrum, Victoria and Zachary Robertson; and ten great-grandchildren, Morgan and Chad Cauldwell, Drew Dodson, Sara and Dalton Robertson, Dustin and Rachel Giebel, Heather and Garrett Elsass, and McKennah Moore.  She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Howard Arthur Elsass, sister Hazel Lucille Fountain, two infant brothers, step-mother Jessie (Chambers) Creamer Reed, and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Gay Elsass.
