Services for
Bertha June England, 84, of Locust Grove, were held Monday, May 13,
2002, at 2pm in the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. Pastor Harry
Jackson officiated, with interment following in McClain
Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove
Funeral Home.
Mrs. England was born October 18, 1917, in Corning, Arkansas, to Albert and Myrtle (Hoppes) Sebastian. She grew up in Arkansas, California, and Tulsa, and graduated from Tulsa Central High School. She and James L. England were married April 15, 1939, in Nowata. They came to the Locust Grove area in 1980 from Seattle, Washington. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In later years, she enjoyed reading and fishing, and she loved to sit on her back porch, admiring her beautiful yard and all of nature. She passed from this life on Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Tahlequah. She is survived by two daughters, Carole and husband Warren Bennett of Locust Grove, Susan and husband David Petrocco of Brighton, Colorado; brother Don and wife Glenda Sebastian of Troy, South Carolina; six grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband James England; brother Dan Sebastian; sister Edith Haynes; son-in-law Tuffy Massengill; and brothers-in-law Loyd England and Charles England. |
