Daisy A. Cavalier
November 25, 1911 - August 30, 2002
 

Funeral services for Daisy Cavalier, 90, of Locust Grove, will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2002, at 2pm in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Locust Grove.  Rev. Jerold Pilant and Rev. Darrell Morrow will officiate, with interment to follow in the Cavalier Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cavalier was born November 25, 1911, in Marble, Arkansas, to John B. and Ova M. (Horine) Howell.  She spent her first five years in Arkansas, and came with her family to the Locust Grove area in a covered wagon.  She attended the Cave Springs School, and later married John Tyler Cavalier on December 1, 1934, in Locust Grove.  She was a homemaker, and an active member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years, teaching Sunday school, working with the Women’s Auxiliary and Cumberland Presbyterian Women.  She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sewing, quilting, organizing family reunions and cooking for them.  She passed from this life on Friday, August 30, 2002, in Locust Grove.

She is survived by two sons, Jon and wife Lee Cavalier, Jimmie and wife Peggy Cavalier, all of Locust Grove; two sisters, Lela Bond of Locust Grove and Fay Perkins of Tulsa; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Billie Cavalier, and cousin, Mary Hickam.  She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband John T. Cavalier; daughter Marilyn Ruth Cavalier; brothers Elmer, Ray, and J.B. Howell; sisters Pollie Pilant, Eunice Cohen, Lois Totten, and two infant twin sisters.
