Dovie Ola Fleming, 1908 - 2004Funeral services for Dovie Ola Fleming, 95, of Locust Grove, were held Friday, May 14, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. in the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Keith Burden, Rev. Ray Gwartney, and Rev. Jeff Blair officiated, with interment following in Hogan Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fleming was born September 15, 1908, in Locust Grove, to James Homer and Eva Pearl (Dotson) Stout. She passed from this life on Monday, May 10, 2004, in Salina.

She was a lifetime resident of the Locust Grove area, and had attended the Graham and Cave Springs Schools, as well as Locust Grove High School. She was married to Perry Everett Fleming on February 4, 1926. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook, and she loved gardening, as well as sewing. Her family meant everything to her.

She is survived by two sons, Homer and wife Janie Fleming, Bob and wife Ilene Fleming, all of Locust Grove; a brother Billy and wife Helen Stout of Rogers, Arkansas; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband Perry Fleming; sister Lucella Woods, and great-grandson Derrell Richardson.
