Dorothy Joan Harper
March 24, 1922 - February 28, 2004
 
Funeral services for Dorothy Joan Harper, 81, of Leach, were held Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at 2:00pm in the Lowery Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Lance Rogers officiated, with interment following in the Oaks Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harper was born March 24, 1922, in Hilton Darby, England, to William John and Grace Ellen (Pugh) Bullock. She grew up and completed her schooling in Hilton Darby, England, and came to Oklahoma in 1947, the year she married Lee Claude Harper on March 8th in the Oaks Lutheran Church.

She was a homemaker, quiet by nature, and she enjoyed going to Lowery Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member. She also enjoyed vegetable gardening, mowing and tending to her yard. She liked working crossword puzzles, and she loved playing with her grandchildren. She passed from this life on Saturday, February 28, 2004, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen and husband Robert Grimes of Locust Grove, Linda and husband Calvin Christie of Lowery; three sisters, Thelma and husband Arthur Gent, Lorna and husband Wilf Yates, and Pat Soar, all of England; two brothers, David Bullock, John and wife Susan Bullock, all of England; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Lee Claude Harper, a sister Josephine, and brother Leslie Bullock.
