Services
for Donna K. Phillips, 52, of Spavinaw, formerly of Locust Grove, were
held Saturday, September 8, 2001, at 10am in the Lighthouse Assembly
of God Church, Locust Grove. Rev.
Harry Jackson and Rev. Tobe Sperry officiated, with interment
following in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral
Home. Donna
had worked for several years in food service, at both the Locust Grove
Schools and Jerry's Dari-Ette. She
was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Locust Grove,
where she enjoyed four years of being the Missionettes Leader for 5-12
year old girls. She was later a member of the Spavinaw Hills House of
Worship. She loved
reading the Bible and listening to Gospel music; she also enjoyed
camping, fishing, crochet and other crafts.
She liked to go out driving with Doyle in the Spring and Fall
to photograph the countryside. She
enjoyed going to garage sales, and she loved being a big part of the
family holiday gatherings. Her
faith was strong and she was an inspiration to all who knew her. She
passed from this life on Wednesday, September 5, 2001, at her home in
Spavinaw, at the age of 52 years, 5 months, and 13 days. She
is survived by her husband Doyle Phillips of the home; two sons, Bryan
Phillips, Mikal Phillips and Kendra Vaughn all of Locust Grove; five brothers, Dalton and
wife Jeanie Jones of Spavinaw, Gary and wife Pearl Jones of
Langley, Larry and wife Wendy Jones of Strang, William and wife Lynda Jones of
Tahlequah, Erick and wife Sherry Jones of Spavinaw; granddaughter Mariah
Hope Phillips of Locust Grove; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews; and a host of other special friends and relatives, too
numerous to mention, who prayed, helped, cooked, cared for, and shared
their love with Donna during her illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Connie
Due. |
