| Graveside services
for Darrell Bruce Stephens, 58, of Locust Grove, were held Wednesday,
January 2, 2002, at 2pm in Hogan Cemetery, Locust Grove. Rev.
Louie Coffelt officiated, with services under the direction of the
Locust Grove Funeral Home.
Mr. Stephens was born October 7, 1943, in Tulsa, to Carl Bruce and Edith Marie (Wyzard) Stephens. He served with the US Army 101st Airborne Division, followed by an enlistment in the US Navy. He came to the Locust Grove area in 1970 from Bixby. He was a welder and had attended Mayfair Baptist Church in Tulsa. His experience as a cook in the military led to a lifelong love for cooking. He also enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, and fishing. Stephens passed from this life on December 30, 2001, in Muskogee. He is survived by his parents, Carl and Edith Stephens of Locust Grove; brother Doyle Stephens of Locust Grove; sisters Carla Stephens of Pennsylvania and Brenda Harvey of Locust Grove; five nephews, and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mary and Lacy Stephens, Mary Blaney, and Monroe Wyzard. |
