Earle E. Sanders

Earle E. Sanders, 1928 - 2004Funeral services for Earle Eugene Sanders, 75, of Locust Grove, were held Friday, March 5, 2004, at 11:00am in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Pryor. Brother Roger Wright officiated, with interment following in Ballou Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mr. Sanders was born May 22, 1928, in Murphy, to Joe and Lillie (Rowe) Sanders. He grew up in the Murphy area, and after graduating from high school, attended culinary school at the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. He worked as a baker in Montana, and then as a laborer and truck driver in Topeka, where he married Phyllis Goslin on December 4, 1954. The couple lived in Chicago for 14 years before returning to the Locust Grove area. He worked many years as a drywall finisher before retiring in 1994.

Mr. Sanders was a Jehovah’s Witness Ministerial Servant, and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pryor. He was a devoted husband, and a very proud and loving grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he loved his dogs.

He passed from this life on Monday, March 1, 2004, in Locust Grove. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Sanders of the home; two sons, Dale Sanders of Seffner, Florida, and Darryl Sanders of Locust Grove; three sisters, Emma and husband Winford Watkins, Rose Sheppard, Ida and husband Curt Prescott, all of Locust Grove; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and numerous spiritual brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Sammy Keener and Tom Keener; and two sisters, Avenida Proctor and Nancy Sanders.
