Graveside services for Floyd V. Rone, 87, of Locust Grove, were held Saturday, June 8, 2002, at 11:00am in Hogan Cemetery.  Pastor Mark Watson officiated, with services under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mr. Rone was born January 6, 1915, in Chickala, Arkansas, to Luthor and Lillie (Bennett) Rone.  He grew up in Arkansas, coming to Oklahoma at the age of 19.  He married Delores Dobbs on July 14, 1934, in Cordell.  He worked as a truck driver for many years, retiring in 1972.  He came to the Locust Grove area in May of 1994 from Braggs, Oklahoma.  His favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, and gardening.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Locust Grove.  He passed from this life on Thursday, June 6, 2002, in Salina.

He is survived by two daughters, Naomi Judd of Locust Grove, Lanell and Bob Grant of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Alma Harrison of Houston, Texas, and Ruby Lowry of Russellville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by both parents; by his wife Delores Rone; one brother; and two sisters.

Friends are donating in his memory to the Locust Grove Food Pantry at First United Methodist Church.
