Janice M. Helton
April 14, 1962 - October 13, 2002
 
Services for Janice M. Helton, 40, of Locust Grove, were held at 2pm Wednesday, October 16, 2002, in the New Home Cemetery Chapel at Peggs. Rev. John Kiddy officiated, with services under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Ms. Helton was born April 14, 1962, in Tahlequah, to Virgil Luther and Ida Mae (Batt) Helton.  She grew up in Locust Grove and graduated from LGHS in 1980. She was a member of Ballou Baptist Church, where she was baptized, and had recently attended First Baptist Church in Ketchum. Besides church, she loved holidays and spending time with her family. She enjoyed collecting various things, she liked shopping, and she loved flowers. She was very easy-going and loved to laugh. She had so many dear friends and family members who will truly miss her smile.

She passed from this life on Sunday, October 13, 2002, at her home, at the age of 40 years, 5 months, and 29 days.  She is survived by three sisters, Karen Ward, Patricia and Johnnie Colvin, all of Locust Grove, Joyce and Gene Watson of Alachua, Florida; four brothers, Virgil and Lynn Helton of Hulbert, Johnny Helton and Scott Helton, both of Peggs, and James Helton of Locust Grove; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was preceded in death by both parents.
