| Services for Jeremy Ray Pickup, 21, of
Locust Grove, were held Thursday, July 5, 2001, at 3pm in
the Little Rock Baptist Church east of Locust Grove. Rev.
Bridge Chuckluck, Jr. officiated, with interment
following in the Little Rock Cemetery. Services were
under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home. Jeremy was born May 17, 1980, in Claremore, to Johnny Ray (Sr.) and Mary Jane (Mouse) Pickup. He grew up and attended school in the Salina area. He worked as a roofer for A-Asphalt & Roofing in Locust Grove. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also liked playing volleyball, horseshoes, and pool. He enjoyed repairing things, and he was a good worker. He knew a little bit about a lot of things. He loved being around his family and friends, and his nieces and nephew were very special to him. He was of the Baptist faith. He passed from this life on Sunday, July, 1, 2001, in Pryor. He is survived by his mother, Mary Blossom of the home; father Johnny Ray Pickup, Sr. of Salina; 2 brothers, Tommy and wife Katherine Pickup of Salina, Johnny Ray Jr. and wife Vanessa Pickup of Locust Grove; sister Charlotte Pickup of the home; maternal grandmother Ruby Mouse of Locust Grove; 2 nieces, Kayla Pickup of Salina, and Johnessa Pickup of the home; 1 nephew, Brandon Wilson of Pryor; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jess Blossom, Sr.; paternal grandfather Bill Pickup, Sr.; paternal grandmother Ollie Stoneburner; and maternal grandfather Joe Mouse. |
