Funeral services for Lucinda Ellen
(West) Moore, 92, of Littleton, Colorado, formerly of Mayes County, were
held Thursday, December 4, 2003, at 11:00am in the Life Tabernacle church,
Locust Grove. Pastor Fred West officiated, with interment following in the
West Cemetery near Strang. Services were under the direction of the Locust
Grove Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moore was born January 7, 1911, in Cold Springs, Oklahoma, to Culliciah Davis and Annie (Eagle) West. She passed from this life on Saturday, November 29, 2003, in Littleton, Colorado. She grew up in the Mayes County area and attended the Chilocco Indian School. She also went to Oklahoma State University, and later worked for the Federal Indian Service at the Chilocco School as well as the Whelock Indian School for Choctaw girls. She was married to George W. Moore, and in 1940 she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she raised her family. She sold Stanley Home Products for a while, and later worked as a real estate agent for Century 21. She was also a faithful poll worker on voting days, and was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church until she entered the Armour Home. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Krause of Morrison, Colorado, and Anne Bolton of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband George Moore; three brothers, and one sister. | |
