Lillian Price, 1906 - 2003Services for Lillian Price, 96, of Rose, were held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 1, 2003, in the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, Locust Grove. Pastor Harry Jackson officiated, with interment following in the Rose Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mrs. Price was born November 17, 1906, in London, Arkansas, to Thomas Carroll and Mary Etta (Vinson) Rye. She grew up and attended school in London, Arkansas, where she was active in her church and enjoyed singing with her sister Annis. She married Rufus Orville Price on July 16, 1928, in Piney, Arkansas. The couple made their home in London, Arkansas for several years before moving to Little Rock. After spending some time in Chicago and Louisiana they returned to Little Rock and, upon Orville’s retirement in 1971, they came to the Rose area to enjoy country living.

Mrs. Price enjoyed being a dedicated homemaker. She loved cooking, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Locust Grove, where she had played the organ and piano in past years.  She passed from this life on Thursday, February 27, 2003, at her son’s home near Rose.

She is survived by a son, Thomas and wife Beverly Price of Rose; sister Beulah Jetton of Knoxville, Arkansas; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Orville, five brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.
