Funeral
services for Lodema M. Reed, 82, of Locust Grove, were held Saturday,
April 17, 2004, at 2:00pm in the First Baptist Church of Locust Grove.
Rev. Alvie Thornton officiated, with interment following in Hogan
Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home. Mrs.
Reed was born November 20, 1921, in Locust Grove, to Delbert and Clara
(Bates) Bond.
She passed from this life on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, in Tulsa. She
was a lifetime resident of the Locust Grove area, and was a graduate of
Locust Grove High School. She had worked as a beautician, and she was a
member of the Cedar Crest Baptist Church. Her faith was very important to
her, and she enjoyed visiting with other Christians.
She took great pride in her appearance and was always neat as a
pin. Keeping herself and her family in clean clothing was a priority.
She also liked to play dominoes She
is survived by a grandson, Joe Cale of Claremore; granddaughter Jennifer
Wilkerson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sister Wanda Scarborough of El Paso,
Texas; and special friend John Wilson of Locust Grove.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband Ernest Reed;
and a daughter, Deborah Jane Reed. | |
