Mae Harless
July 3, 1928 - January 19, 2004
 
Funeral services for Mae Harless, 75, of Locust Grove, were held Friday, January 23, 2004, at 10:00am in the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, Locust Grove. Pastor Harry Jackson officiated, with interment following in the Dawes Cemetery at Chelsea. Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harless was born July 3, 1928, in Chelsea, to James Lester and Pearl (Green) Potts. She grew up in the Chelsea area and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1946. She also attended Draughn’s School of Business in Tulsa, and worked as a secretary for many years at American Airlines. She married Johnnie Harless on June 26, 1948, in Tulsa. She came to the Locust Grove area in 1977 from Tulsa. She was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Locust Grove. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing, and baking for family gatherings. She loved spending time with her five grandchildren. She liked watching football, especially her favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. She passed from this life on Monday, January 19, 2004, in Tulsa.

She is survived by her husband Johnnie Harless of the home; two sons, Tom Harless, John and wife Becky Harless, all of Locust Grove; one daughter, Terri and husband James Points of Peggs; five grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Virgil Potts and Doyle Potts; and one grandson, Jonathan.
