Pearl J. Reed
May 20, 1920 - May 7, 2004
 

Pearl Jossie Reed was born May 20, 1920, in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, to W.K. and Martha (Gearhart) Tipton.  She attended school in Chouteau and graduated from Chouteau High School. She came to the Locust Grove area from Chouteau in 1960, the same year she was married to Walter Reed on February the 1st.  She was a member of the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church and also belonged to the Tuesday quilting circle. She enjoyed attending craft shows, gardening, and going camping. She also loved to display her denim quilts, baby quilts, and hand sewing. Pearl passed from this life on Friday, May 7, 2004, in Locust Grove, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

She is survived by one son, Donald C. Arnold of Stillwater; two daughters, Judy A. Marshall and husband Jim, and Lea Reed Torres, all of Locust Grove; a son-in-law, George Torres of Locust Grove; two grandchildren, Donna Carpenter and husband Art, Jeff Arnold and wife Laura; four great-grandchildren, Ben Darnaby, Joey Darnaby, Karlie Arnold, and Jordan Arnold; and a sister, Edith Wathen of Chouteau.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Reed, on November 3, 1986; by her parents, W.K. and Martha Tipton; one sister, Ruby Jaggars; and one brother, Cecil Tipton.
