Moore, 64, of Rose, were held Saturday, September 27, 2003, at 2:00pm in
the Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church. Brother Rick Condit and Brother
Louis Maxwell officiated, with interment following in the Rose Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
Mr. Moore was born March 17, 1939, in Gideon, Oklahoma, to Zed Hooker and Essie Leona (Gillum) Moore. He grew up in the Rose area and attended schools at Ticki Ridge, Iron Post, Smith Chapel, and Locust Grove. He was married to Jane Russell on December 16, 1958, in Pryor. He worked as a farmer and was a lifetime resident of the Rose area, except for a short time living in Tulsa, where he ran a mail route for four years. He loved his grandchildren, spending time outdoors, and vegetable gardening. He also was a lover of animals, and he enjoyed playing his guitar and dobro, as well as watching westerns on television. He liked to tinker with things and could fix almost anything. He was a very pragmatic person who didn’t let many things worry him. He believed that experience was the best teacher. He attended the Free Will Baptist Church. He passed from this life on Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at his home near Rose. He is survived by his wife Jane of the home; two sons, Clinton and Stacy Moore, Clayton and Sylvia Moore, all of Rose; daughter Crystal and Chuck Clifton of Tulsa; three brothers, Zed "Sonny" Moore of Locust Grove, Coy Gene Moore of Tulsa, and Glendal Lee Moore of Rose; five sisters, Iva Mae and Bill Sharp of Chelsea, Delpha Jane Skaggs of Sapulpa, Gladys Pauline Hoffman of Wichita, Kansas, Madge Silkey of Tulsa, Verda Marie and Dean Skaggs of Sapulpa; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents. | |
