Stephanie Michelle Lawson
December 2, 1984 - November 9, 2001
 

Graveside services for Stephanie Michelle Lawson, 16, of Rose, were held Wednesday, November 14, 2001, at 2pm in the Rose Cemetery.  Pastor Nathan Chamberlain officiated, with services under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home

Stephanie was born December 2, 1984, in Claremore, to Vernon Lee and Peggy Sue (Gann) Lawson.  She was a lifetime resident of the Locust Grove area, and an ‘A’ student in the 11th grade at Locust Grove High School.  She attended the Northeast Technology Center campus west of Pryor where she studied horticulture.  She had also attended extra credit courses at OSU-Okmulgee in Pryor during this past summer.  She placed first with her dried flower arrangement in the Mayes County Fair, and first in silk arrangements at the Tulsa State Fair, as well as outstanding showcase.

Outside of school and her family, she loved listening to music and spending time with her friends.  She enjoyed bowling, swimming, shooting her .22 rifle, driving her pickup and riding four-wheelers.  She also enjoyed reading her Bible, and she attended several churches in the area.

Stephanie passed from this life on Friday, November 9, 2001, in Tulsa.  She is survived by her parents Vernon and Peggy Lawson of the home; brothers Jason, Brian, and Travis “Taz” Lawson of the home; sisters Amanda Lawson of Salt Lake City, Pam Lawson, Annette and Tommy Goertz of the home; paternal grandmother Lenora Lawson of Rose; maternal grandmother Jackie Rice of Kellyville; maternal grandfather John and Adella Gann of Salina; her fiancé Kyle Rimpley of Locust Grove; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Ruben Lawson, maternal grandfather Homer Rice, and uncle Floyd Lawson.
