Viola Garrison
August 22, 1920 - November 21, 2001
 

Graveside services for Viola Garrison, 81, of Rose, were held Saturday, November 24, 2001, at 3pm in the Rose Cemetery.  Rev. Bobby Main officiated, with services under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mrs. Garrison was born August 22, 1920, in Deer, Arkansas, to Isaac Alvin and Berslie May (Thompson) Faught.  She grew up around Deer and Crossroads, Arkansas.  She married Lawrence A. Garrison on September 30, 1939, in Blanchard, Oklahoma.  She had lived in Springdale, Arkansas, for the last three years, coming from Spencer, Oklahoma.  She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Gospel Assembly faith.

She enjoyed gardening and sewing, and liked cooking for everyone.  She especially loved being an active member of her church, and most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and family.

She passed from this life on Wednesday, November 21, 2001, in Tulsa.  She is survived by 3 sons, Dewey and Patricia Garrison of Rose, Raymond and Brenda Garrison of Helena, Arkansas, Steve and Pam Garrison of Rose; 3 daughters, Gerene and Ronald Schmidt of Coal Valley, Illinois, Sue and Edward Mayes of Tulsa, Carolyn and Leonard Smith of Spavinaw; 5 brothers, Otis and Carol Harris of Tontitown, Arkansas, Doyle and Oma Watson, Arnold and Shirley Watson, Jim and Pat Watson all of Springdale, Ray and Sharon Watson of Seattle; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband Lawrence Garrison; son Walter Lee Garrison; brother Paul Faught; and two sisters, Ruth King and Teddy Faught.
