Vaughn Cook Rowe
April 3, 1938 - February 17, 2004
 
Funeral services for Vaughn Cook Rowe, 65, of Locust Grove, were held Friday, February 20, 2004, at 2:00pm in the Peggs Pentecostal Church. Rev. Dennis Fine and Rev. Garland Jenkins officiated, with interment following in Ballou Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mr. Rowe was born April 3, 1938, in Locust Grove, to Frank and Lydia (Redbird) Rowe. He was a lifetime resident of Mayes County and grew up around Locust Grove, attending the Ballou School and later Locust Grove schools. He worked at Phillips-Drisco Pipe as a forklift operator until his retirement in 2001, and had been recognized with achievement awards for work safety. He attended the Ballou Baptist and Peggs Pentecostal Churches.

He enjoyed fishing, going to the Locust Grove Sale Barn, and watching races at the Salina Highbanks Speedway, where his favorite driver was #2 Mike Collins. He also loved spending time with his grandkids and family, and visiting with friends. He passed from this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2004, in Tulsa.

Mr. Rowe is survived by a son, Frankie and Shelby Rowe of the home; four daughters, Teresa and Dennis Fine of Peggs, Sherry and David Barnhart of Locust Grove, Wanda and Jerry Hammack of Rose, Jennifer and Micheal Arthurs of Locust Grove; one sister Dorothy Lemmings of Locust Grove; his children’s mother, Mary Lou Ballou; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents, and by a sister Norma Patton.
