Obituary for Nathan Paul Brooker

Nathan Paul Brooker was born on August 30, 1988, in Alamosa, CO, to Timothy Douglas & Paulita Sharlene (Harp) Brooker. He departed this life on Sunday, February 7, 2016, in Tulsa, OK, at the age of 27 years, 5 months, & 8 days.

Nathan grew up & graduated high school in Siloam Springs. He was a member of the class of 2006. He furthered his studies at Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, NC, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Nathan's true passion in life was basketball, he lived & breathed the sport. He coached basketball at Carmel Christian & Queens Grant High School, both located in Charlotte, NC. Nathan was also a staff member of YesICan Basketball as well as Pro Skills Basketball in Charlotte. He was currently in the process of moving to Houston, Texas to be a counselor for Resolve It, Inc., where he would be working with victims of violence through sports.

Nathan was passionate about all sports & even followed NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing when he had the opportunity, & loved to travel. Nathan had been a part of the Watershed Church in Charlotte, NC. He was currently engaged to Heather Odle. Nathan will be missed by all that knew & loved him.

Nathan is survived by: his parents: Tim & Paulita Brooker of Bridge City, TX; fiancee': Heather Odle of Tulsa, OK; 1 brother: Brandon Brooker & wife Laneice of Fairfax, VA; a niece on the way; grandparents: Dr. Richard Brooker of Ft. Scott, KS, Sharlene & Leo Anderson of Rose, OK, & Paul Harp of Kansas, OK; Aunts & uncles: Mark & Sherri Brooker of Siloam Springs, AR, Amy Brooker of Siloam Springs, AR, Sandy & Brian McKinzie of Gravette, AR, Stacy Harp of Rose, OK, & Jeremy & Kathy Harp of Siloam Springs, AR; Numerous cousins, other relatives & a host of friends.


In lieu of flowers, the family request that Memorial donations be made in Nathan's name to a Victims of Violence Program called the Resolve It, Inc., 2951 Marina Bay Dr., Ste. 130.265, League City, Texas, 77573, or online donations can be made at www.resolveit.org. Funeral services were held 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 12, 2016, at Jubilee Ministries in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Dr. John Swails officiated with assistance from Dr. Jim Burkett. Interment followed at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
